I graduated from CSA/ARU MA Children's illustration in 2008, sadly it coincided with the onset of a health condition which has left me with an invisible disability.  The financial difficulties that can follow prolonged period of ill health/hospitalisation etc meant I simply didn't have any savings left to pursue Illustration as a career. I had a young son to raise and provide for.

I worked for many years as a teacher both in main stream schools and as a specialist teacher working with students unable to access the mainstream system. During this time I created "Lost" primarily as a device to engage students who had lost their confidence and belief in their abilities and were no longer engaging in education. This led to my own engagement with illustration. I have since left education and with my son away at university I now spend much of the day drawing and exploring all the stories and creative ideas that fill my head.
